简介
Maiden Heaven is the result of a lifelong musical journey which started in the cradle with the enormous influence of my greatly talented parents, singers Anne and Calum Kennedy, whose love of music firmly entrenched itself in me. So many of the songs on this album are theirs – and here I am finally doing what they always said I should do. - Fiona Fiona Kennedy Born into a well-known Scots singing family, it was natural Fiona would follow her parents into the music and entertainment industry. Her work spans television, film, theatre, radio broadcasting and TV production. Highlights include presenting BBC’s Record Breakers with Roy Castle and Norris McWhirter, London West End Production of Alfie, Celtic Connections, singing at the G8 Summit Launch and The Royal Albert Hall for Her Majesty the Queen. She has acted and sung at the Edinburgh International Festival in productions: Ane Satire of the Thrie Estaites and Servant of Twa’ Maisters. Fiona performed at the first ever NATO Burns Supper in Brussels, and this year has performed in various locations across the world, including Tanzania, the USA and in Malawi as Patron of Famine Relief for Orphans in Malawi . She developed and produced The Kist which was inspired by a magnificent display of kists or chests at Ellis Island in New York. It is a vibrant, music production, which is a unique crossover highlighting both traditional and contemporary music from Scotland and beyond and has broad international appeal. The Kist is a musical celebration of our heritage through song and story and embraces all genres, from ancient tribal Gaelic, traditional folk, bluegrass, gospel, rock, pop to American country.
