Keyboardist Glenn Jones and guitarist Tim Law, members of IAN Band, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to strengthening communities through music, art and mentorship, effortlessly deliver sophisticated smooth jazz melodies reminiscent of early Joe Samples, with a hint of David Benoit, laced with Larry Carlton-esque guitar styling . . . a must have for smooth and contemporary jazz lovers. Glendal Jones, the youngest of nine siblings, was born May 22, 1958 in Los Angeles, California to Pastor Horace Calvin Jones, Sr. and Sibbie Marie Jones. Glenn began playing the piano in his father's church at the age of 10. By the age of 17 he had moved from his parents’ home and had begun expanding his musical horizons. He played in clubs, weddings, recording sessions, as well as for established artists ranging from Lola Falana, Randy Crawford, to Andrae Crouch.  

Glenn's keyboard style is laced with an energy that is unmistakably gospel. "All African-American musical styles came out of our spirituality, out of the church," says Glenn Jones. "I love all music and take great pride that my gospel background has equipped me to adapt to any musical style. When I'm told ‘You sound really good. You're from the church, aren't you?’ I reply, ‘Yes, I'm a Gospel-Jazz and Blues musician.’” In recent years, Glenn’s concentration and commitment to music has evolved into membership with Independent Artist Network. "I've been blessed in so many ways and Independent Artist Network affords me the opportunity to use my musicianship, songwriting and singing skills to help at-risk young people, as well as others." Whether directing his church choir, playing street gigs in support of Independent Artist Network's CD fund-raiser, Believe the magic of IAN, or performing at weddings including processionals, recessionals, and receptions, or recording sessions in and around greater Los Angeles, Glenn always brings his very best -- and brings the very best out of others – with his broad-ranging musical endeavors. Check out Glenn's latest musical offerings. Guitarist Tim Law grew up surrounded by music and discovered early that music would change the way he viewed the world. The emotions created by the different types of music impacted him in the same way certain scents and colors would. Born in the fifties and raised in the South along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, Tim was exposed to a lot of blues, country, and gospel music with numerous other musical genres mixed in for good measure. When Tim plays you can hear the varied influences of numerous guitarists . . . Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Larry Carlton, and, of course, from his southern rock roots, Duane Allman.
