Lyricists Bob & Carol Dowgiallo teamed up with Kay Pere (music composer/arranger) and Grammy Winner Bill Pere (producer) to create this song which was used as the theme for the 2013 Voices For Hope vocal competition, presented by Local United Network to Combat Hunger (LUNCH, www.lunchensemble.com). The winner, 11 year old Samantha Dorsi recorded this version of the song. (The original version was recorded by Kay Pere). Proceeds from all Voices For Hope recordings go to benefit hunger relief and social service programs, through the outreach of L.U.N.C.H., carrying on the legacy of Harry Chapin.
