Based on the philosophy of “Where Preparation meets Opportunity it will result in Success”, Dysfunctional Mariachi has made its goal to achieve a new level of dedication. Not only to the craftiness of creating new songs, but to each other as a whole unit. Over coming personal ex-band mate debacles and finding themselves self doubting of their own potential, they persevered and found each other in the most unlikely of places to form what is now the solid and core lineup of the band. No longer in a vicious cycle of going nowhere, they now have built up steam to destroy all expectations and all nay Sayers. Against all odds they strive ahead to become a success. Stone, Heavey, Kenny and Danny, are D.M. They all bring something unique to the band, which enables them to create some of the sickest tunes. Many times you get a singer that is so involved in himself or his identity they lose credibility. But Stone's dedicated attitude and open mindedness gives the band and fans something to nod there head to in respect. Stone's emotional performance (practice or show) has an uncanny ability to give every inch of himself disregarding his own health. Heavey's ability to capture the toughness of the band, which we affectionately describe as MUY CHINGON, gives an added depth where there wasn't any. Ex-Marine and cool headed, Heavey has the tools and know how to get things done not only in the song writing aspect, but also in the business aspect (setting shows, getting connections, etc.). Kenny, what else is there to say than he is the pure heart and soul of the band. The veteran who has been through anything and everything you could possibly go through in the local scene. He has persevered through so much personally and mentally, and gives everything he is, has, and wants in the band. He makes the drums an extra voice, which not many modern day drummers can achieve. Kenny is what D.M. is all about, a friend, an idiot, a thoughtful individual who gives his all and cares less about what others think. A guitarist with balls, Danny knows that to achieve greatness you must hold back. With producer type elements not only does he sacrifice himself for the song, but has an ability to bring the best out of everyone in the band. "The song is more important then the individual" is what he lives and dies by. With all 4 dumb asses in place they now set their focus on achieving their full potential. Where Preparation meets Opportunity , it will result in Success. This mantra of determination will help them achieve all their goals and expectations one wishes to accomplish in music.
