简介
proc·ess (1) : a natural phenomenon marked by gradual changes that lead toward a particular result. Every show we play, every song we make, every fan we gain, every life we affect is part part of our phenomenon. This is our process of growing as musicians, and individuals by taking past experiences, and lessons we have learned over the years and translating them into music that you not only can enjoy, but also relate to. You won’t hear anything about b**ches, guns, drugs, and money, but rather women, life, adversity, and struggle. If you want to hear that meaningless filler music you might be in the wrong place, otherwise sit back, relax and enjoy the rhyme as Noearth,Thes!s and Thawt take you into our lives and make you a part of our process… Sit Back, Relax, and Enjoy…Tha Process by Joey VooDoo Emerging from the Los Angeles hip hop community comes Thesis, Noearth, and Thawt…better known as Tha Process. I was really excited to have an opportunity to catch up with them and learn more about their music and their debut album. Joey Voodoo: What’s good fellas? Totally excited to to have this opportunity to chat! First off how did you guys come together and form Tha Process? Tha Process: Thanks man, we’re happy you were interested in talking to us haha. We actually all came together from making hip hop in the same area. We all went to high school together so we lived in the same neighborhood and we all had our solo projects going on so we decided it would be more fun and productive to take on a team approach. JV: What really caught my attention is your style. I really enjoy your lyrics and the way you keep things positive as you deliver your message. Where do you get your inspiration and who does the writing? Tha Process: Well we all write our own lyrics….anything you hear coming from my mouth (Thesis) it’s something that I wrote. As far as inspiration we’re all long time musicians so we love creating. We would hear different artists that would piece together lyrics like they were pieces of a puzzle and with all the right pieces they had amazing songs. We want to take that same approach and really just entertain people by showing them our passion and love for music. JV: What is Tha Process? What statement/message are you guys trying to deliver? Tha Process: It’s basically a self explanatory name. Everything that we’re doing right now, all the artists and fans that we come across, any snags or bumps in the road. They are all part of our process as musicians. Everyday we’re growing into what we hope will eventually become a successful music outlet. When we reach that point we can look back to see our progression and everyone that helped us get to that point and the name of it all is exactly what it was….The Process. JV: Which musicians have influenced your music? Tha Process: We have such a wide array of musicians that we listen to it would be hard to name them all. We like the most conscious hip hop, the most hood hip hop, the most fun hip hop. From Biggie to The Pharcyde, to Atmosphere and too many to think of in between. As far as other genres we listen the blues, jazz, reggae, rock, I mean basically anything that involves a creativity we can vibe to or relate to. JV: What’s is Tha Process up to in 2011? Tha Process: We’re currently working on finishing our debut album “Listen to Me”. We’re very excited to release the album because we’ve really been putting a lot into it and we have some really cool features. We got Qwel from the Typical Cats, Sleep of The Chicharones and Oldominion, Dizzy of Ugly Duckling, Prof from Stophouse Records, Rifleman from Project Blowed, and Destruct, Adversity, and Joe Mas of our collective The Cloudmakers. We’re really just hoping it has a positive impact on our local hip hop community. Also we’re trying to get out on the road for a tour, and we’re desperately trying to get a good music video at a broke MC’s discount so any music video directors out there that dig our sound, hit us up lol. JV: Where can folks find you online? Tha Process: You can find us at thaprocess.com as well as Facebook if you search Tha Process, Twitter @Thaprocess, and on youtube. JV: Fellas once again thanks so much for your time! Any final words or shout outs? Tha Process: No problem Joey. Thanks for having us. Shout out to all our Cloudmakers family and the Los Angeles hip hop community. If you haven’t heard us, check out our music and come out to a show sometime. Hit us up at Thaprocessmusic@aol.com
