The Chamber Ensemble ‘Vocalis’ was founded in 1981. From the beginning the group has been led by Anna Godunska, with sacred music from different epochs and folk-inspired music from all over the world in its repertoire. The ensemble is a laureate of many choir tournaments: Legnica Cantat (1994, 2001), International Festival of Choir Song in Międzyzdroje (1998, 2006), Festival of Choir Song in Katowice (1998), International Choir Festival in Barczewo (2009). Besides participating in festivals the singers have also performed several times overseas, recorded a CD with Christmas Carols (“Kolędy”) and cooperated with the Polski Theatre in Szczecin. But mostly they are holding charity concerts at churches and concert halls in Szczecin. They also sang “Missa Criolla” by Ariel Ramirez and “Magnificat” by J.S. Bach.

And less officially :-) – 30 years ago a group of friends singing in different choirs in Szczecin wanted to sing in a small ensemble, as long as in tune and with feeling. The 16-year-old Anna has been put in the middle of the group where she remains today. The conception of the Ensemble is as follows: to rarely sing but beautifully, to play upon heartstrings of the listeners and to see emotion in their eyes. Rarely loud, often softly in order to show the beauty of the piece and its emotional message.
