No stranger to adversity, DeLoach’s music tells his story. He witnessed his dad beat his mom until they divorced when he was 6. When DeLoach was 9 his step brother committed suicide. By the time he was 16 his family’s house had been raided by the FBI and the only father figure he had at the time was now in a federal penitentiary for drug trafficking. With those odds, remaining in that vicious cycle seemed inevitable. Luckily, his passion for music changed everything. Gerald DeLoach Jr., who records under his sir name DeLoach is a hip-hop artist based in Atlanta, GA. Lyrically versatile with his melodic southern roots and energy filled performances, he is often described as a blend of T.I., Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Big K.R.I.T. Born in Louisiana and raised in Houston, TX at a young age DeLoach developed a keen interest in music and began to write his own songs and perform locally. He started to cultivate a fan base by winning competitions held by the Houston hip hop radio station 97.9 The Box, and eventually becoming the headliner of these various competitions.   In 2010, he moved to Austin to gain an even bigger fan base by opening up for Trey Songz, Wiz Khalifa, and Wale, and touring with J. Cole and Big Sean. DeLoach’s musical achievements include placing second in the TRCoA’s 2012 “Best Unsigned Band/Artist” Competition and being selected by the Austin Examiner as one of the Top 5 Hip-Hop Artists to Watch, being named Top Performing Artist by Study Breaks Magazine, a college magazine for students, and being nominated as Best Hip-Hop Artist by the Austin Music Awards. Additionally, in 2015, DeLoach was selected to perform as an official South by Southwest Festival artist and moved to Atlanta, GA to continue his musical pursuits.
