'Ayota' is Ski Oakenfull's ambient/electronic alter-ego, and this collection of tracks is an exciting prequel to the forthcoming release in 2007 of 'Helcopter Cuts' on Third Ear Records. The tracks range from very early experiments ('Sun Salutations') to on-tour hotel room excursions ('Concorde 512') to Techno workouts ('Sonen'), and even some dental surgery sampling ('Haishya'). The album reflects the time in the 90's when Ski was gigging around the world armed with a Stereo Mic and a portable DAT recorder.. I hope you enjoy the trip.. ---------------------- Marketing.. In order to capitalise on the release of 'Helicopter Cuts' by Third Ear later this year, I put together this compilation LP. I plan to send out promos to people who have already expressed an interest in the Ayota project and I want to use it to increase awareness in preparation for a new Ayota release next year. There has already been a lot of enthusiasm for Ayota with offers of live work at Big Chill & Bestival. Tom Middleton, Mixmaster Morris, Rob Da Bank, Kay Nakayama, Nick Luscombe are all DJs who are currently supporting the album.---------------------- Standout track so far is the techno tune 'Sonen'.
