Since he first picked up a guitar in the 4th grade, Matt Guertin has known one thing; he wanted to write his own songs and play them for people. It wasn’t too long before he started doing just that. Growing up surrounded by the music of Blues masters such as Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, Matt later found himself drawn to the sounds and the writings of such legends as Bob Dylan, Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Beatles. His music pulls in all his influences and delivers some rock, blues, country, and alternative styles. His first single brings out his soulful feelings. Sitting down one night with a friend, Matt just started playing guitar and writing the lyrics on the fly. It didn’t take long to realize he had something good. The result was some sexy lyrics built upon a sexy riff; just what you’d hope to find in a song titled “Need Someone.” Looking toward the future, music will be Matt’s life work. He wants to perform, and stick to the roots as he shares his songs with a live audience. Matt has stated he just wants people to be interested in his music. After hearing “Need Someone,” that shouldn’t be a problem.
