DEVOTION features the Utah State University Chamber Singers, the Fry Street Quartet and instrumentalists from the Utah State University Music Department in the Caine School of the Arts, directed by Dr. Cory Evans. Engineered by Grammy award winning recording engineer Bruce Leek, this beautiful album features contemporary sacred choral music performed in the lush acoustics of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Hyde Park, Utah. The Utah State University Chamber Singers consists of versatile and dedicated undergraduate student musicians. The ensemble has garnered an international reputation of artistic integrity, exciting programming and musical precision. Many of the choir's live performances have been featured on American Public Media's "Performance Today." The group's first compact disc recording, SING ME TO HEAVEN (a collection of new choral works by American composer Daniel E. Gawthrop), was dubbed "a quietly impressive recording" by the Washington Post. In 2010, the group released SHOW ME THY WAYS, a second album of choral music by Daniel E. Gawthrop, which was eligible for a 2010 Grammy nomination in three categories: Best Classical Album, Best Choral Performance and Best Engineered Album. The Chamber Singers have performed throughout the United States and in Russia, Spain, Mexico, Austria, Italy and China.
