Dave Cavalier is an alternative blues artist deeply connected to his roots in Chicago but firmly focused on establishing the potency of his sound in the City of Angels. Immersed in melody at a young age; his mother, a singer & lover of Chicago blues, and his father, an accomplished guitarist and local music store owner, provided Dave with a house full of music and walls of guitars as a meaningful part of his upbringing since the very beginning. Cavalier’s reverence for his early influences is still apparent within each frenzied, howling guitar solo or intense, evocative live performance. After moving west from Chicago in 2010 at the age of 23, Cavalier became an instant draw in the local Hollywood music scene as a solo artist. He began touring nationally for over two years as guitarist for the electro pop rock duo, STAMPS, before his passion for singing, writing, and arranging brought him to the famed EastWest Studios to record his debut solo E.P., "HOWL," with producer & Grammy nominee, Hal Winer, in 2014. Released independently in 2015, "HOWL" was the first chapter of Cavalier’s story, seamlessly blending the raw energy of his wildly impassioned live sets with the articulate hand of a skilled songwriter. Since “HOWL” was released, Cavalier has performed with Don Henley, Aloe Blacc, Kendrick Lamar, Manchester Orchestra, Local H, Brand New & many more at festivals across the country, continuing to fine tune his sound in the process. His playing style has been compared to modern day bluesman Gary Clark Jr, and even guitar icon Jimi Hendrix, inciting a raw live atmosphere for his audiences that is as sexy & smoky as the blues clubs in his famed hometown. Cavalier still performs every night with the adolescent joy he had playing his father’s guitar to his mother’s favorite records, carving out a niche in today’s landscape of disposable music & entertainment that is decidedly individual.
