DISQO VOLANTE is a Korean-American synthpop artist based in Carrboro, NC. His music fuses a background in jazz, a love affair with punk rock, and an astute awareness of popular electronic aesthetic. "re: lit" is DISQO VOLANTE's debut and self-produced EP, featuring music created over a period of about a year, and based on the concept his 2015 electro-jazz project, "Digital World." The songs on re: lit were written about the normal things and passionate people DISQO VOLANTE encountered living and working in DC, New York, and Carrboro, as well as inspired by a spiritual homecoming this summer to Japan and Korea; the first trip he's made alone to Asia since his adoption from Korea in 1993. His main inspirations include David Bowie, Prince, Yellow Magic Orchestra, and Kraftwerk.
