简介
This was my first major endeavor into art and music production. As a visual artist, the album's cover is my visual interpretation of the music. It started as an idea I had for a short musical experiment. I planned on having four to five tracks that would flow into each other, back-to-back. However, my grandmother passed away in the process of making the album, which inspired me to examine life from a philosophical view, as well as a mechanical view. Genesis 1 tells the story of life from a philosophical view, Slight Epiphany (Interlude) chronicles the moment when the album's concept really solidified in my mind, as well as spells out the exact mechanics of the life process from a life and death perspective. Psalms 15 neatly combines those two ideas while bringing the album to conclusion. The album was exclusively written, recored, and produced by myself (DeLMnT,) with the exception of "There for You" and "Keep the Faith," which I received some production help from my friends Jon Hayes of "Serita's Black Rose," and Pluto Monday. Along with drawing and painting the album cover, I also played most of the bass, lead, and acoustic guitar parts– as well as many of the various synths heard around the album. It took nearly two years to finish, with the majority of the work being done summer 2015. I consider it a growing process, like most things in life. I'm excited about the quality I was able to achieve, but even more about the knowledge I accrued while making this piece. My song writing ability, rapping skills, and vocal range and control were constantly challenged throughout the process. It was as much a journey of persistence as creativity. I'm eager to take these lesson's I've learned and apply them to my next project. For now though, I hope for people to listen to it, and see the world through my eyes.
