Arriving in Los Angeles from his hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Matthew has quickly taken a stronghold in the burgeoning music scene, earning a reputation for knocking out audiences with his raspy voice and passionate performances. His soulful melodies and deep-reaching lyrics have landed him on top music showcases like ASCAP'S "QUIET ON THE SET", THE BEST OF UNSIGNED L.A., and WESTERN BEAT AMERICAN MUSIC SHOWCASE. Lee was also named a finalist for ACOUSTIC ARTIST OF THE YEAR by The National Academy of Songwriters. Recently, Matthew has showcased with his band at the EAT'M FESTIVAL in Las Vegas and was selected for two solo showcases at the NXNE MUSIC CONFERENCE in Toronto. He also has been named a top-ten National Performing Songwriter at the WILDFLOWER MUSIC FESTIVAL in Texas, and was the GRAND PRIZE WINNER in the SIERRA SONGWRITERS' COMPETITION. Matthew has worked with a wide range of producers, including Brooks Arthur (Janis Ian), David Kershenbaum (Tracy Chapman, Joe Jackson), and Duane Baron (Ozzy Osbourne, Heart).
