Odyle was formed by a musician and an actress. While hanging out at the Philosophical Research Society Library in Los Feliz, CA they encountered the word Odyle in an old esoteric book. The word was coined by Karl Von Reichenbach a notable chemist, geologist, metallurgist, naturalist, industrialist and philosopher. His investigations led him to propose a new imponderable force allied to magnetism, which he thought was an emanation from most substances, a kind of "life principle" which permeates and connects all living things. To this vitalist manifestation he gave the name Odic force or "Odyle" The word haunted them, and after writing a song about a circus psychic who taps in to this force, they adopted it as their band name. Odyle's music is moody, dark and dreamy. Now in Denver, the pair continue to write and perform together.
