You Are My Inheritance is a highly varied collection of liturgical and sacred music composed by Rachel Burckardt. Rachel serves as a volunteer liturgical musician and composer at St. Cecilia Parish in Boston, Massachusetts. This is her 3rd CD of original church music. The CD features many of Rachel's settings for psalms. Most of these settings have been used at the parish liturgies and are adaptable to many forms of worship services. The settings feature refrains that are accessible to the congregation, while providing melodic and harmonic interest in the verses which are sung by a soloist. A high point of the recording is Rachel's setting of the Ave Maria, inspired by Gregorian chant and arranged in the Lydian Mode, which is the original mode of the Church.
