Traditional songs are songs from unknown authors, mostly because they're so old and transmitted through an oral tradition. These songs are often related to a certain national culture and tell of personal or historical events. Before printing existed, people remembered history by singing it to others. A lot of these songs were later made famous by blues and folk singers all over the world, most importantly by the likes of Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan. The further you go back in history, exploring the influences of later music, the more traditionals you will find. One could call them the home of music. In A Cabin With is an international recording project established by Maarten Besseling and Jesse Beuker. Every two months In A Cabin With invites various musicians for a recording sessions at a unique and peaceful location to record a full length album. inacabinwith.com Onder Invloed is a Dutch videoproject by Matthijs van der Ven. The project title is Dutch for ‘Under Influence’. Since 2008 Onder Invloed filmed more than 70 musicians covering their favourite bands in sessions and at special Onder Invloed live shows.
