简介

2012 was a crazy year... and album, that's how hip-hop heads worldwide will remember it. Following in the footsteps of great DJ/Producer and MC duos like Eric B. & Rakim and GangStarr, Statik Selektah & Termanology once again combine to form the powerhouse group 1982. The formula is perfected and flawless as Statik crafts the perfect sonic landscapes for Term's more mature and sophisticated delivery - see the uplifting first single "Shining." Holding Term down on the microphone side of things are great guest spots from some of the hottest new talent in the game; Mac Miller, Roc Marciano and Freddie Gibbs blend nicely with iconoclasts Bun B., Havoc of Mobb Deep and Lil Fame of M.O.P and Shawn Stockman from Boyz 2 Men. 2012 has already garnered high praise as this month's Source Magazine has given the full length it's coveted "Independent's Day" column and XXL has a great review ready for it's May 22nd issue. The duo will also hit the road in both the states and abroad, April - July for full tour support of the album. 2012 will indeed be the year of 1982. Termanology began making a name for himself with several highly acclaimed 12" singles. His big break came when DJ Premier blessed him with one of his signature, scratch-laden beats. "Watch How It Go Down" instantly became an underground classic and with it Termanology thrust himself onto hip-hop's international radar. The conscious hood anthem garnered the earnest MC tons of praise, landing him in The Source's "Unsigned Hype" and XXL's "Show and Prove" columns. Term has recorded with hip-hop heavyweights such as Freeway, Sheek Louch, The Alchemist, Pete Rock, Buckwild, Easy Mo Bee & Large Professor. Currently he is readying Fizzyology, his collaboration effort with M.O.P.'s Fizzy Womak (aka Lil Fame). Establishing his own spot amongst the ranks of East Coast hip-hop's seminal figures, DJ/producer Statik Selektah utilized his turntabling skills and ingenuity in PR and promotions to break some of the region's most promising artists, bearing his own influence on the national mixtape circuit. He has worked with Talib Kweli, Styles P, Consequence, Freeway, and Jadakiss (among many others); and most importantly, the DJ became a major-player on the mixtape circuit as his releases with Nas, Q-Tip, John Legend, and Saigon received major accolades and write-up's. Statik dropped his first LP, Spell My Name Right in 2007, Stick 2 the Script in 2008, 100 Proof: The Hangover in 2010 and Population Control in 2011. Last year also saw him teaming up for projects with Action Bronson and Freddie Gibbs as well as a full length masterpiece Straight, No Chaser with REKS earlier this year.
