Disc Jockey Mindwrecker is a musician out of Portland, Maine (USA) who is known for his raw mixes of fast, furious, and sometimes almost malicious music sets of techno, oldschool hip-hop, acid/garage, rock and spoken word. Having grown up listening to the classic hip-hop of the late 80's, such as Slick Rick, Public Enemy, and EPMD, Mindwrecker began messing around with a Radio Shack Mixer in late 1992. As time went, more used equipment was picked up, and Mindwrecker began to define his djing fundamentals. In 1996, Mindwrecker began his eight year run of cutting it up on WMPG Community Radio, which is based in Portland, Maine (USA). Having done almost 500 radio shows, live events, and dj battles, Mindwrecker has performed in almost every state in New England, as well as Brooklyn NYC, Philadelphia, Orlando, and Miami. Mindwrecker prefers to continuously educate himself and find ways to improve his artform. He does this by reading books and making good of the "tools at hand". In his own words: "Newer is not always better, and chances are if your like the rest of us, you are not always going to have access to the most expensive gear or most current releases. This forces you to either 1. get frustrated, or 2. rework your craft harder. I try to go with the latter." "Right now society is more intense than it has ever been before, if you think for one moment you are safe you are the one who is in the most trouble. In order for the earth to survive, we must re-evaluate and reorganize our thought patterns and systems so as to become a more efficent and postive existence."
