It seems today that lyricism has taken a backseat to production in hip hop music culture. South Jersey’s finest lyrical MC, Scoop, aims to restore the balance between the two elements. Born in 1983, Scoop (a.k.a. Dante Dicks), has embodied true hip hop culture from a very young age. Performing in school talent shows, DJing local parties, winning dance contest, and participating in rap battles have been the course of study for this student of hip hop since he was 14 yrs old. During his young adult years, he has been fine tuning his craft of lyricism by creating and releasing two mixtapes; Chapters of My Notebook: Chapter 1 in 2006 followed by 2nd Chapter in 2007. As these projects spread throughout the tri-state area, Scoop has gained respect from his peers and an ever growing fan base that stretches from NYC, to Philly, to New Jersey. His club performances in NYC at Don Hills and The Remote Lounge, Reeds in PA, and The River in New Jersey were well received…leaving the fans wanting more… And here it is COMN3: The Final This latest project includes nothing but original rhymes penned by Scoop, and original beats from various contributors.
