“‘In The Light Of The Valley Of Life’ depicts the story of a young boy who was born and raised in an isolated rural country we’ll call ‘The Valley Of Life.’ This boy, whom we’ll refer to as ‘The Angel’ was a perfectly normal boy, raised by a loving and caring family who taught him well, enrolled him in a school which provided him the best education that any school system could offer, and brought him to a church with a congregation best suited to be called ‘Brothers And Sisters In Christ.’ We say that he is perfectly normal, no protruding features that would cause him to stand out like a sore thumb in a crowd, but that was the problem; he never stood out. There was nothing unique about this boy, and while all of his peers were excelling in their own qualities, he had nothing going for him. Until one day, God gave The Angel both the gift and the desire to pick up one of the most difficult and unsought-for talents in the entire Valley; the ability to play the violin. As he discovered this instrument in the storage room of his church, he opened the case, applied rosin to the bow, tuned up the strings and began to play with all of his hearts content. As he stood outside on a cloudless sunny day playing the violin, people from all around took notice and gathered around to hear his beautiful music. Everyone looked beyond overjoyed to see and hear him play. They thought it was wonderful, but most importantly The Angel finally had something going for him; music.” “Many years pass, The Angel grows up to young adulthood and all is well in ‘The Valley Of Life.’ A little too well, if one is asked. After graduating from high school, The Angel begins hearing a voice, telling him to leave The Valley and head for The City. He believes that it was his intuition that told him so, but the truth was that God had planned for him to go there. His parents were asked him to reconsider at first, but then after some thought they realized that he was a grown-up and had to make his own decisions. So with his violin in hand and a song in his heart, The Angel bids everyone in The Valley a heartfelt farewell and heads off to The City. As he heads inland into this uncharted territory, he notices that the light was starting to fade. In The Valley there was an overabundance of light, but as he made his way in The City the light had all but faded into darkness. As The Angel made his way into the downtown area, a not-so-colorful cast of characters were at his presence; homeless people, drug addicts and prostitutes were all around him with offers to either ‘spare some change,’ ‘get high,’ or ‘have a good time.’ As they continued to surround him with said offers, which he nonchalantly turned down, he realized that he had nothing to offer, but that same voice told him, ‘play for them,’ so he took out his violin and started to play. As soon as he played, everything was silent around The City and all attention was on The Angel. Somehow his playing had captivated everyone who lived in The City, giving them a breath of life. As the people wept tears of the damned and confess to their wrong-doings The Angel tells them that they are forgiven, because God forgives all of His children. As they are reminded of this, the people of The City are transformed, putting their former lives behind them, performing good deeds, rebuilding The City and living by the example of Jesus Christ. The people are ever so grateful that The Angel had proclaimed God’s word to them, and for the restoration of light in The City.” “Life in The City has never been so vibrant; as The Angel noticed the change in every person it was reminding him of everyone who lived in The Valley and he couldn’t be more pleased. But just as everything was changing for the better, the sky grew dark all of a sudden. Thunder and lightning surrounded The City and out of nowhere a shadowy figure appeared before everyone in The City. The shadowy figure, whom we’ll refer to as The Evil One, informed The Angel that he must take all of the people of The City as his prisoners because they all failed to abide by the same contract that everyone had signed. The people in The City signed this particular contract which promised them fortune beyond their wildest imagination. Each one of them had been rich and famous at one point after signing this contract with The Evil One and all they had to do was dedicate their lives to him. But soon afterward they had all fallen into the dark paths which The Angel had found them in and saved them from falling back into. After being freed of their pain and suffering, they had all but forgotten about their deals with The Evil One. Nobody wanted to go back to their old ways after discovering the works of Jesus Christ and The Angel was not going to give them up whatsoever. But The Evil One had heard enough and with a motion of his hand, demons appeared before everyone and captured each of them, sending them into a fiery pit, not killing them but torturing them. After darkness and fire and overwhelmed The City once more, The Angel was left with nothing and it seemed to him like all of his work was for nothing. It was a dark time in The City once again.” “As The Angel stood at the corner of The City’s limits he believed that there was no chance at resurrecting it. Faced with the difficult decision to take another path into uncharted territories, The Angel sends a prayer to God. While he is praying, he hears God’s voice once again to tell to go back into The City and play for them. With new life in his step, The Angel heads back into The City to revive everyone once again and to keep the demons out. As he heads deep into the heart of The City, just like his discovery in The Valley, he opens his case, applied rosin to the bow, tuned up the strings and began to play with all of his hearts content. While he is playing, he slowly begins to glow with a blinding aura of light and as soon as he confronts the demons with this light, they begin to be driven away with no power over the people at all. The Evil One soon finds that the demons are gone and the people have been set free so he attempts to enslave the people once again with all of his power but it was no use. The people were once again saved and The Evil One was powerless against them, so he destroyed all of the contracts and left The City never to be seen again. The people all began to celebrate as The Angel kept playing his violin still glowing with the aura of light, but at his most intense moment the light began to grow larger and brighter, eventually blinding everyone to a point of near-panic. But suddenly the light was gone, and as everyone looked around The City with its newly colorful scheme The Angel was nowhere to be found and a ball of light mysteriously took his place. As the people gathered around it, suddenly The Angel reappeared from the ball of light, but with something that they had never seen on him before; wings. The Angel informs everyone that he must leave them now and reminds them to remember the word of God and live by the example of Jesus Christ. As a light from the sky shines upon The Angel he flies onward and upward to the heavens, leaving a legacy for the people in The City, which they renamed The City Of Life.”
