简介
What do you get when you combine: a classically trained piano teacher; an aspiring Nashville songbird; a world traveling, lead guitar playing Methodist preacher; an upright bass player whose tastes run from Jazz to barbershop quartets; a folksy acoustic guitar player who writes songs; a rock and roll drummer; and a down home bluegrass picker who can play most anything with strings? You end up with the hot new contemporary Christian group, Still Waters, that plays all kinds of music from a little bit of country to a whole lot of praise. Their common love for music and love for the Lord draws this eclectic combination into a nicely balanced ensemble featuring crisp vocal harmonies and uplifting musical interludes. Still Waters has its roots in the Swansboro United Methodist Church in Swansboro, NC, a small yet quaint coastal town, where an informal group of musicians gathered to lead praise services at the church. As new voices and players were added each month, it became clear that the combination was worthy of becoming a group. Their new CD features many original songs, including "I Believe in You," the title song. "God Doesn't Waste a Hurt" is an original written in memory of a loved one who battled and died of cancer. Many people have commented how much they can relate this particular song to their own lives and their own suffering. All profits from the CD are donated to the church for mission purposes. The group is made up of Angie Bean (keyboard/vocals), Angie Cooper (lead vocals), Randy Innes (guitar/vocals), Dave Johnson (upright bass/vocals), Chip Olmstead (guitar/vocals), Jimmy Williams (drums), and Randy Wilmoth (mandolin/dobro/guitar/steel guitar/vocals). Their email address is stillwatersband@hotmail.com. "Still Waters" came together in 2003 with one purpose and intent...to share the love of Christ through music. The members of the group are committed to serving the Lord and we strive to keep our focus on Him - for what talents we have are gifts from Him and there is no greater way for us to give thanks than to use those gifts to glorify God. We hope the selections we included will, above all else, provide you with a sense of how amazing God's grace is and how He wants us to go through life trusting in Him! Our prayer for you is that you will invite the Lord to lead you beside still waters.
