Hillary McBride (born November 7, 1986, in Orlando, Florida) is an American songwriter and artist. She was raised in Denver, Colorado and Fort Wayne, Indiana. At age sixteen, Hillary began recording jingles for Fort Wayne companies. Within a year, she was winning local talent shows, culminating in a regional finalist position for the third season of the television show, Nashville Star. Hillary moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2007 and began performing on the songwriter circuit. Her efforts earned her recognition from several publishing companies and in January 2012 she signed with Word Music Publishing. Hillary was recently recognized by BMI for co-writing one of 2012’s most played Christian music songs, Kari Jobe’s radio hit “We Are”, which peaked at #8 and stayed on the Billboard charts for 21 weeks. Her radio success continued into 2013 with another top 25 hit, All Things New’s debut single, “New Man.” Other notable artists that have written with Hillary and recorded their co-written songs include Dara Maclean and Jason Castro. Hillary’s ongoing success and recent recognition are proving her to be a rising star on the Nashville music scene. "Brave" is her debut solo album.
