简介

Bio Mike Noble Singer/Songwriter Born on May 13, 1952 in Cherry Point, North Carolina, Mike has spent most of his life in Vandalia, Ohio ten miles north of Dayton. Around the time of his 14th birthday, while driving up Salem Avenue in Dayton, Mike heard a unique sound coming from the AM radio. Listening to the whining harmonica against an acoustic guitar, he asked his mom who the artist was. Since that moment, Mike was hooked on Bob Dylan. It wasn’t long before, his mother bought him a $19.00 electric guitar from Bernie’s Music Store. Since that time, Mike has been learning and playing his new found craft. Mike’s first gig came a year or two later when he played at the St. Christopher Summer Festival in Vandalia. Armed with a new acoustic guitar and harmonica, he proceeded to play two of Bob Dylan’s masterpieces. “Blowin’ In The Wind” and “Mr. Tambourine Man.” From that moment on, Mike has been playing and writing original songs. During Mike’s high school days, he found his way to the drama stage, participating in numerous plays and choral events. “Spoon River Anthology” and “Half A Sixpence” were two of the plays that Mike participated in. It was at this point in time that Mike realized a dream. To be a Rock Star! In the mid 1970’s, Mike and close friend, Dean Vincent went to Cyberteknics Recording Studio in Dayton to record two of Mike’s early original tunes, “Hey Lady” and “Time Will Never Stop.” From that point on, recording became the focal point in Mike’s career as a musician. Bound with 1,000 copies of his record, he went distributing them to local bars and restaurants. Soon after, Mike and next door neighbor, Jon Stanley formed trio group known as “Cotton.” During this period, working on stage performance and developing tight vocals with the three piece band became paramount. Mike left “Cotton” eighteen months later to pursue a solo career. With a four track, reel-to-reel recorder in his possession, Mike started taking his writing more seriously. Then in 1994, with the help of his brother, “Flooded Basement Studios” was built in the basement of his home. With a working studio and support from life long friend and fellow recording artist Dean Vincent who owns and runs “Studio D” recording studio, this labor of love has endured for over 30 years resulting in 5 CD’s of Mike’s original material. During the late 1990’s, Mike joined another trio. It was during this time he met and had an opportunity to play with Rick Bashore forming the group, “Wooden Nickel.” This relationship has paid high dividends and has opened the door to such opportunities as playing at the annual “Mountain Days Festival,” held each year in Dayton. Rick has also helped Mike to hone his craft as a musician. Mike feels that Dean Vincent, Jon Stanley, and Rick Bashore have been three positive influences in his musical career. Mike hopes to continue singing and writing as long as possible. Along with his wife Angie, Mike has two children, Greg and Rachel who also play guitar and write songs. In 2007, Mike and his son, Greg completed a CD entitled, "The Man." We hope that you will take a few minutes to listen to the music that has been produced on this website. The compilation completed in 2005, “Clinical Meltdown” is a collection of folk rock tunes filled with storytelling lyrics. Recently, Mike finished his 7th CD to date simply called "Unplugged." It contains 14 new songs. In the past 40 years, Mike has spent the majority of his time working to improve on his craft. The enjoyment found in playing music has been second to none. If his music puts a smile on your face, then it was all worth it. Peter O. Panner May, 2008
