DJ respect him, radio announcers play his music, his songs were and still are the most requested songs threw out the Caribbean. Actually, he is known for his two hit single 'Real McCoy' and 'The Baddest DJ'. Rankin Don recalls as a young bwoy his young sister persistence to get involved with music and being to young to go to the clubs and fetes he recalls his first enhancement with the mic by singing off of versions, all before the age of 13. That is when it all started.. Notorious Bugs from Gyasi Record Label urged him to record, being that Rankin Don was already an underground superstar in Jamaica and in the streets of Brooklyn. That is were and when he recorded hits like 'Can't find me love'and the big hit'Baddest DJ'. Kudos to Rankin Don because that was just the beginning, directly a year after that 'Roy McCoy' was born. Known for it's unique flavor and jovial hook ( AH ! AH! AH! AH!), also took the Caribbean and the US by storm. He also recorded 'The Big Race' with Roundhead, Screehie Don, General B, and Baja Jedd. Rankin Don has performed with the best of the best that includes: Shaggy, Grammy Nominee Beres Hammond, Freddie McGregor, Grammy Award winner Beenie Man, Shabba Ranks, and Gregory Issac. Ingenuously , Rankin Don is a producer for RockTower Studios known for it's rich history in the foundation of reggae music. Rankin Don is known in the dancehall as the bad bwoy of reggae but to Gwyneth Paltrow, and Stella McCartney children he is know as Father Goose. Rankin Don is also on a children album Rocket Ship Beach, which consisted of likes of artist Suzanne Vega, Sheryl Crow, Simon Kirke, and Dan Zane just to name a few. Rankin Don's contribution to Rocket Ship Beach gave the children's album a new Caribbean flavor compared to the folkish demeanor of the children's album will sells going threw the roof. Now, 'It's Time' that will stand still for Rankin Don, while 'It's Time' will just prove how baddier the bad bwoy has gotten.
