简介
From hard rock and blues to retro R & B and jazz, the folk flavored words and fine jazz/rock musicianship make these songs feel alive and fresh. Get a taste of New Orleans street beat, a bit of thrash rock, an R & B horn section, a blues lament and a couple of crazy songs with hidden meanings. You may find one or two impersonations such as an odd pairing of Robert Plant and Leon Redbone. The styles come from Bill Webb's diverse background as a rock, jazz, folk, classical and pop performer. The words come from living the life, hard knocks and all. Featuring: vivacious vocals, gritty guitar, buxom bass, disturbing drums, organized organ, forthcoming flutes, trembling trumpets, perpetuitous percussion, supposititious synthesizer and humble piano. Humble piano?! Some of the words of the songs on this album may speak louder than long explanations: Trk 1: "Transparent Waffles are just like you and me, what we really are is what we cannot see." Trj 2: "A trip through my mind is a very scary time; I never know for sure what I'm gonna find..." (from 'To the Sea'). Trk 3: "My Life Began with Rock 'n Roll; I crawled from out a deep dark hole; to play the music from my head; it kept me from the living dead. Well OK. Oh yeah! It's alright." Trk 4: "What I want, what I need is something more than greed; it's people to love, places to go; there's more inside of me, inside of me." (from 'Money') Trk 5: "We got a way to New Orleans...where 'da feet are burnin' up da groun'... we gon' fly, gon' get high... Trk 6: "You may not believe me now 'cause all you heard were lies, but I came back to make amends." (from 'New Man' blues). Trk 7: "I've got something to say; you got something to say; we all got something to say!" Trk 8: A piano ballad performed on the 1925 restored C. Bechstein grand piano Trk: 9 Latin beat and jazz performance with Bill Webb's jazz band.
