简介

Guilherme Fonseca is a Brazilian guitarist / producer / songwriter based in Houston, Texas, USA. Guilherme has worked as a side-man and studio musician with major Brazilian artists like Jota Quest, Sandy & Junior, Wilson Sideral, Leo Maia, George Israel, Jair Oliveira, Republica dos Anjos, Milton Guedes... and the list goes on and on. Guilherme Fonseca`s guitar is powerful and creative. It boils together rock energy, pop colors and the amazing music of the Brazilian State of "Minas Gerais", famous for the "Clube da Esquina", a 1970`s movement that brought to the world the superb music of Milton Nascimento, Toninho Horta, Lo Borges, Beto Guedes and others... `Minas` is the State of the colonial golden cathedrals, the mountains, the baroque art, where tons of gold erupted from the soil in the 18th century. A peculiar place, with breathtaking nature and a rich vibrant culture. Why call the album "Libertas"? It`s a celebration about being able to write, produce and release original independent music. It`s also to honor the revolutionary State of Minas Gerais, crucial to Brazil`s independence. Instrumental music is magic because it allows each listener to take it`s own voyage. Oh, freedom!!! The musicians: Samuel Fraga on Drums. /// Basses by Duda Lima, Adriano Campagnani, Sergio Carvalho and Paulinho Carvalho. Flute by Milton Guedes. Finger snaps by Emanuel Fonseca, Guilherme`s son. All guitars recorded by Guilherme Fonseca. Drums recorded at Na Cena Studios, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Some guitars recorded at Altissimo Studio, Belo Horizonte, Brazil by Alexandre Rodarte and some guitars tracked at Guilherme`s Home Studio. Basses tracked at Guilherme`s Home Studio. Flutes by Milton Guedes, tracked on the road, his house, hotel rooms, who knows! That`s the beauty of digital recording. Album written and produced by Guilherme Fonseca. Mixed by Marco Diniz, Andrew Bradley and Jay Snider. Studios: Maquina, Sugar Hill and Jay`s Studio. Mastered by Allen Corneau and Ty Robins. The songs: 20 Setembro /// To a better day. Hare Hare /// In admiration for people that can manage to keep calm even on very stressful situations. Libertas /// To honor the Brazilian State of Minas Gerais, HotRod /// Dedicated to all rockers.
