Good luck for the future. Geof Cartledge, Victoria, Australia. Saxophonist MICHAEL MASSARO is a musician, composer and producer based in Toronto, Canada. His proficiency as a live performer has made him one of Canada's most in-demand musicians, having appeared with Little Anthony, The Crystals, the Five Kingsmen and Percy Sledge. In previous years, Massaro performed with Frozen Ghost,The Spoons and appeared on the 1987 JUNO AWARDS with Errol Starr. In addition to these, he appeared in music videos for Johnny Lovesin and Liberty Silver in 1986 as well as on the Much Music " Special Ticket " with the Fabulous Thunderbirds in 1987. He was also featured on a national pop music fund-raising tour for the Canadian Heart Foundation. Michael is no stranger to the Canadian air waves his distinctive saxophone recordings have been heard since the eighties with major instrumentals such as ‘Flying Easy’, ‘L.A. Days New York Nights’, and ‘Wings of Glory’. He was honoured to be part of a compilation recording that was titled after the Massaro hit, ‘Flying Easy’with some of Canada’s foremost instrumental performers including David Foster, Liona Boyd, Moe Koffman, Andre Gagnon, and Frank Mills to name only a few. Featured Artist on Worldwide Live Satellite Broadcast for RAI International. Also appeared on several National TV broadcasts Telelatino (TLN), Rogers Omni Channel 47, Much Music Breakfast Television and CHIN International Radio - TV in Canada. Michael has also performed to crowds of over 15,000 in Miami and Nashville for Herbalife International. In 1990, Massaro performed the Canadian and American national anthems at Toronto's Skydome prior to an Oakland Athletics Toronto Blue Jays game in front of 52,000 people and was heard and seen by millions of baseball fans throughout North America. Between 1990-1992, Michael released four singles on RBI Records: Flying Easy, Glider, Smooth Sailing and Wings Of Glory (RDR promotions); all received international airplay. Of these, Flying Easy and Smooth Sailing reached top 10 positions in the adult contemporary charts in Canada. In 1993 his debut album "Awakening" received extensive airplay across Canada, United States and Italy. In 2005 hereleased "LA Days New York Nights" a remastered compilation of 15 of his best recorded tracks to date. Available on CDBABY. In 2008, Michael Massaro in collaboration with fellow musician/composer Marco Luciani released his latest CD entitled "Waves Of Change"" . This project features Michael on Soprano Sax and it consists of six original compositions, three renditions of popular tunes including Earth Wind & Fire's "September" and a vocal track featuring the incredible voice of Alfie Zappacosta. Michael is currently working on his upcoming CD’s "Weavers Of Dreams" to be released in Summer of 2010. The music in Michael’s works reflects our modern times and his passion for Instrumental music and his continual search to be the best that he can be.
