AFTER WORKING AT THE MARKET HE WAS READY TO BE A BUSINESS OWNER SO HE STARTED A JEWERLY BUSINESS WHICH HE OPENED INSIDE A "SEARS AND ROBUCK" STORE IN CHICAGO RIDGE IL, A SMALL SUBURB ABOUT 10 MINUTES SOUTHWEST OF CHI- TOWN. FROM THAT ONE LOCATION 2 MORE LOCATIONS OPEN 9 MONTHS LATER 1 IN CALUMET CITY IL, AND THE 1 IN BATTLE CREEK MI. JUST BEFORE HE OPENED HIS NEXT LOCATION WHICH WAS A CLOTHING STORE THAT SOLD SOME OF THE HOTTEST CAPS AND TEE'S AROUND CHICAGO. AT THE SAME TIME THAT ALL THAT WAS GOING ON TRAGEDY STRUCK. WILLS DAD HAD A STROKE AND WENT INTO A COMA, HE THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS HIS GREATEST LOSS, BUT NO! IT WOULD BE SOME TIME LATER WHEN HIS DAD CAME OUT OF THE COMA AND PASSED AWAY. SO WILL PRESSED ON TO START A MULTITUDE OF DIFFERENT SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSES, CELLULAR STORES,CD STORES,GIFT STORES,AND OF COURSE A RECORD LABEL, JUST TO NAME A FEW. CURRENTLY WILL IS THE CEO OF "TCB RECORDS" HE'S ALSO THE CFO OF TCB PRODUCTIONS AND SITS ON THE BOARD OF WL ENTERPRISES INC. AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF LOCAL BUSINESS INVESTMENT GROUPS. HE ALSO RUNS A SUCCESSFUL CONSULTING COMPANY WHICH IS A THINK TANK FOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS. There he learned what to do and what not to do in the music business, this is also where he hook up with another young artist by the name of KAPONE who today is know for being one half of the hip hop act "UK" who push on STAR to work the mic instead of just writing, and making beats doing hooks on our artist joints. Beacause STAR took hold of the mic and never look back he was able to spend time with the GRIND FAMILY AND SOUTH SHORE MUSIC. Until he left Gary, IN to stand on his own this would prove to be very hard. But a must! Needing money for studio time and to help his family he turn to hustling "whatever da street called for" was what he said when ask during a recent interview. After year's of gaining respect in "Nap" (Indianapolis) Evansville, Lafayette,and Louisville he came back home and started the group L.O.D. which was packed with so much talent that everyone of the members went out on their own after a short time! We got a hold of TCB's Ceo WILL PROFIT and ask him What did he see in STAR? to want to sign him to the label. he said, "Star is a legend in his own tyme a prophet in his own rhyme and he is just getting started. ___ ABOUT OUR ARTIST: BIG CHEEF Inspired by such rappers as Run D.M.C., U.T.F.O., and the Fat Boys Big Cheef founded a love for rap music and it's culture in the early eighties. Songs such as "Space Cowboy", "Bite It", and "That's The Way It Is", laid the pavement for what is now known as Ghetto Strong. As Cheef grew with the music, he began to store pages and pages of lyrics in his head. Hanging around at the studio with "Snake" (Tony Scony), opened a pathway for Cheef to lay down the foundation for his lyrical realm. At the age of fifteen, he began developing a style of his own. Though never completing high school, Cheef's days were spent on the street as a "Young Hustla", committing everything from auto theft to sales and distribution. Living this life embedded the ingredients that make Cheef Ghetto Strong. Cheef started rhyming in local sessions and becoming more known in the area. After realizing there's a better future than one of selling drugs in Ghetto Island, he decided to put his money where his heart is, make a career of his lyrical talent, and independently release his own album. Ghetto Strong, the first single, is a compilation of street prophecies and visions. Holding true to his talents, Big Cheef's debut release is ridden with Ghetto stories laced over a Hustla's heartbeat.
