Born Christopher T. Thompson, God ordained Chris to call sinners out of darkness and be a beacon of light to all who come encounter with him. Growing up was no walk in the park. Chris endured a tumultuous adolescence, having had many behavioral problems in school. Some of his teachers told him that he would never be anything but a statistic and that he wouldn't live pass the age of 20. Chris was involved in the “street” life and in the midst of hustling, he developed a love for rapping. He had an insatiable love for words. His creativity and his quick tongue kept him loved around his neighborhood but the streets were still calling him. Chris was fearless and ruthless and his career as a criminal would soon land him a small stint in jail, but this experience didn't dissuade him from the streets. Upon leaving the correctional facility and coming back home, Chris became depressed. He let all the negative stuff that people infused into his mind take over his thinking. He felt he was worthless. Chris wanted to kill himself. He put a gun to his head and tried to pull the trigger but he couldn't. Soon after, his mother directed him to Life Changers Church and Ministries of Manhattan and that is when the metamorphosis began. While laboring and teaching the Word of God for 6 years, God stirred up the gift that was already in Chris. God began to manifest himself in Chris through his craft for rhyming thus birthing the persona C.H.R.I.S. because Christ has truly risen inside of Chris.
