简介
THE BEGINNING: Mike Doyle started writing songs about trolls as a high schooler. Ten years later and he's still writing songs about trolls! What's up with that? THE MIDDLE: Mike fronted his band, British Phil, at Penn State University. They did play a few troll songs, but Mike started to explore some other subject matter as well (much appreciated by his bandmates). And they did very well for themselves! British Phil won the 2010 Penn State Battle of the Bands, opened for some big name acts like We Are Scientists and Less Than Jake, were in rotation on the local radio stations, and were performing weekly at bars, venues and festivals around Central PA. One of Mike's tunes was even played at Beaver Stadium! Here's a farewell video made from footage of the last British Phil gig before graduation. After college Mike started working as an engineer in the Philadelphia area, but the music (and the trolls) continued... after 5 pm. Mike released his debut album, "Nightmare Lullabies", in 2013 under the band name Michael and the Mooncussers. Mike was named one of Philly's best emerging artists in 2013 and invited to perform at the Beta Hi Fi Fest at World Cafe Live. Mike and the band spent 2013 and 2014 playing shows all over Philadelphia. Realizing nobody knows what a Mooncusser is and that the band name was too long, Mike decided to change it to OK Otter. He has since re-released his debut album, "Nightmare Lullabies", as well as four seasonally themed EPs as OK Otter. You can get all the music for free at the OK Otter Bandcamp page. The band has had airplay on WWMR and Radio 104.5, and Mike's brand new kids song, Dinosaurs in My Bed, was recently debuted on 88.5 WXPN! THE NOW? : OK Otter is always working on new tunes. Check out the YouTube page for demos! There are also quite a few new kids songs in the works as well!
