Gathering on Persimmon hill is a collection of my favorite traditional old time tunes dating from the 18th century to early 19th century. Two of the tunes were inspired while at different living history events. Gathering On Persimmon Hill at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum Chuckwagon Gathering and Ghosts of Fort Washita at an event at Fort Washita.

The music on this CD is performed in traditional style, not to be confused with bluegrass. Instrumentation is old time fiddle, clawhammer banjo, and mountain dulcimer along with vocals.
