简介
[21 year old] E-Gunna is 1/3 of Tha Tak-Ova...born in San Francisco, CA, raised in Northern California, bread in Fillmoe (800 block),has been writing raps since 1996 and credits 2 Pac for motivating/inspiring him. Growing up in the streets of San Francisco being tough wasn\'t an option especially attending over 9 elementary schools . At a young age he chose the streets but refused to be ignorant. While hanging with the thugs he always managed to get above average grades and excel in his education. In 1996 he moved to North Oakland(Gaskill) and befriended people in the neighborhood. While living in Oakland he learned many different lessons about the game of life. Being from Frisco and living in Oakland wasn’t easy but as the saying goes \"real recognize real.\" From 1997 to 2001 he moved back and forth from Oakland to San Francisco going to 3 middle schools. At a young age he also chose to put money over everything. Never settling for less and being a trendsetter had he begun living an adult life at 13 by clubbing, driving, grinding and everything else. By 15, he was hanging with 20-28 year olds and taking care of his younger siblings. Due to the harsh environment of the Bay Area, Mama Gunna decided to move to South Sacramento, CA only to encounter a similar situation for E-Gunna. 2002-2004 E-Gunna made his mark in Sacramento by staying true to his upbringing and only associating with the real or so he thought. While in Sacramento he hung with people from Oak Park, G-Parkway and Creek Mobb. In 2003 E-Gunna, D.I-Diddy, Killah, and L-Solo formed a movement called “Tha Tak-Ova” and begin making mix tapes while in high school. After the buzz continued to spread E-Gunna became more serious about pursuing his musical endeavors. After graduating from his 3rd High School in 2004 he moved back to San Francisco, CA to pick up where he left off in his street endeavors. While thugging he managed to go to CCSF and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. In 2005 he had a brief but serious brush with the law facing 25 years to life for attempted murder, still E-Gunna continued to Rap/write while in the county jail fighting his case. After being snitched on by the victim E-Gunna was forced to plead guilty to probation and a strike. Shortly after, E-Gunna and his co-defendant were released. After getting out of jail E-Gunna continued to rap/write. Six months later after completing 5months of house arrest he was shot in the head by a stray bullet from some scary unknown person [which damaged his Left eye]. After recovering from that he rushed back into the studio to make songs with “Tha Tak-Ova” and “Zoo Zoo Tribe” and released many mix tapes with all original beats that reached many Californians. Shortly after regaining a buzz “D.I-Diddy” was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison with the help of “killah” testimony so E-Gunna severed all ties with “Killah”. 2007 marked the rebirth of “Tha Tak-Ova.” E-Gunna along with L-Solo both of whom are solo artist decided to cross promote and dedicate their life to music. After seeing that he couldn’t wait any longer, E-Gunna came out with his first official mix tape in 2007 “Money, Murda, Music.” “I live how I rap and I doubt if 1% of people in the industry can say the same. I’m the best breathing and that’s that. Since 2 Pac’s death in 1996 we ain’t been getting the respect we deserve. The hyphy movement is coo but realistically speaking Northern-Cal’s murda rate is ridiculous right now. Yea we go dumb but it’s realer than that. This is the state that Gangster Rap was founded in so I feel it’s my duty to let the world know what’s going on. I speak for the Thugs, Killas, Hustlers, Pimps, Playas, and every other real Individual in the hood from a Fillmoe point of view.”- E-Gunna Since the 2007 release of “Money Murda Music” mix tape, E-Gunna has done over 40 shows in the state of California (paid) and has been featured on numerous mix tapes and albums of up and coming artist. After selling 2,500 copies and passing 2,500 copies of the Money Murda Music mix tape, E-Gunna is ready to release “Gunnafornia” the street album with all original songs. “I know people think we can’t rap in Cali but Im going to prove them wrong and have fun doing it. I’m the best, I say that because if you listen to my street album, I picked the beats, wrote every hook and verse and I’m 21. Who was [is that] this good at that age? I talk a lot of sh*t plus back it up. If you find somebody better, I will cut my hair and I’ve had it 7 years”.
