SPADE KOSTA, @oprahson (IG), captures a lot of ladies' sentiments on this super hot song "EFF LOVE!!!" #EFFLOVE Imagine everyday that you are faced with the undeniable truth that you are barely surviving, and at a young age, you had to tap into your survival instincts. Meet SPADE KOSTA a.k.a. ICY who is originally from Chattanooga, TN, and now a resident of Atlanta, GA. He has major love the “A,” but he represents for “Chatt-town” everyday! Spade Kosta became an entertainer because he wants to spread his story of overcoming struggle. He plans on letting everyone know that no matter what you are going through and where you are from, nor whatever your age or race is, there is always someone in a worse situation than you. His songs come from being at his lowest point, having to live without access to water, food & even other people. Spade Kosta is the spokesperson for the reality of life. He has an older brother serving two-life sentences, plus 15 years; so his music is not only about his struggle in life; it’s about the struggle of everybody else. Spade Kosta says, “In order for me to tell you my struggle, I have to tell you everybody else’s struggle first. Then I will show you how I overcame all of it to live a better life!” Spade Kosta realized that he had a chance to become a notable artist in the ninth grade, but he knew he had to work at it hard, because he wasn’t a natural. Spade Kosta says, “I didn’t have pure talent, I had to bust my ass for this!” What you see today of Spade Kosta comes from a lot of dedication and persistence. He says, “I had to get to the level where people could hear my day to day struggles in my lyrics. I use the same combination for success in the studio (the ‘Yo’), as I did in the streets --- work hard & be aware!” Some of the people that inspired him to become a great artist include Tupac and Biggie. Spade Kosta took note of Tupac’s passion and Biggie’s bravado and storytelling. As a part of Spade Kosta’s development, he has performed at some of Atlanta’s hottest spots that include: Club Blaze; Blue Flame; Strokers; The Gate (J Paul’s); Figure 8; Throbacks; The Crowes Nest; Off Da Bones; Oceans 66; Caliente; Libra; The Zone (Solutions), GME Lounge, etc. He has also performed at Mt. Zion High School Talent Shows and at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center. One of his biggest performances thus far in his career is performing with Future (“Racks” & “Tony Montana” fame) and Trouble at DJ Reggie Black’s Birthday Party. He has also performed at DJ Hershey’s Birthday Party in a lineup that included Cash-Out, Stuey Rock & Mykko Montana along with Jeezy & Rocko being in the audience. DJ Reggie Black & DJ Hershey are major supporters of Spade Kosta’s singles “Money Made Me Do It” & “iSupport The Dancers.” He also has a social relevant banger called “Don’t Shoot (Mike Brown Tribute)!” Spade Kosta is bringing feeling, reality and pain in his music to the masses. He says, “I’ve been having these same dreams since I lived in the projects.” He is a shining light out of the gutterness of Chattanooga, TN where boys want to be drug dealers and girls want to have a baby or two for the drug dealers. Spade Kosta believes in giving back, so that’s why he has volunteered with Amen’s Corner (A Community Organization helping the homeless in Atlanta, GA) along with visiting Central Gwinnett High School to speak with the football team about leadership and pushing through adversity. If you didn’t know, Chattanooga, TN is also the hometown of such stars as Usher (R&B Superstar), Reggie White (NFL Great); Samuel Jackson (Actor) and Bessie Smith (Blues Great). Spade Kosta is working hard to earn the right to be mentioned with the greats of his hometown! As the leader of his No Reason crew, Spade Kosta is poised to make major noise by continuing to build a solid foundation! He completed a 5-day run as WHTA Hot 107.9 FM Atlanta, GA’s BattleGroundz Champion with “iSupport The Dancers,” and has received an even greater response with “Money Made Me Do It!” #MMMDI. It has been highlighted as “Street Flavor” for a week on WJTT 94.3 FM Chattanooga, TN played on other stations around the Southeast.
