Malik Sharif Spence Malik Sharif Spence was born on March 9, 1990 in New York City and began to make his mark upon the world of entertainment at an early age. He appeared on the cable television show “American Baby” with his parents when he was nine months old. He also appeared in the “American Baby Magazine” on 2 occasions: once in 1991 and again in 1992. Malik also had the opportunity to appear I the New York Medical College 1992/1993 Annual Report. Malik’s natural gift for singing and music was discovered at the early age of fourteen months. It was during the time of NBC’s anniversary celebration when Malik began singing “Happy Birthday” at the television screen. At the age of two, he began singing in the youth choir at the Cathedral Baptist Church located in the Bronx, NY. Malik continues to sing with the youth choir and is a member of the Cathedral Choir. In May 2002, Malik performed at the Yonkers Talented Teen Show, which was held in Yonkers, NY. This is where members of Fantastic Entertainment discovered him. Malik is a young, raw talent being developed by FantasticMuzik Entertainment as a hip-hop/urban sensation. Malik’s voice, personality and dance skills make it hard to believe that he is only 15 years of age! Some of Malik’s special skills include an ability to sing close harmony by ear, along with a natural talent for dancing, acting and comedy. His accomplishments in 2003 include performances at Rye Playland, competing in the first annual Yonkers’ Riverfront Talent Show at the Larkin Avenue Public Library and winning first place in the “So You Want to Be a Star” competition held in Harlem, NY. It was at this competition where Malik had the opportunity to perform before the legendary singer Isaac Hayes and Bowlegged Lou of Full Force. You can hear Malik sing a “Sunday Soul Classic” jingle on 107.5 WBLS between 12 Noon and 4 pm which plays currently our present day. In 2004, Malik was privileged to open for the legendary “Manhattans” at the BB King’s Bar & Grill Restaurant in Times Square. Malik has formed a bond with Gerald Alston from the group and performed with him at Amy Ruth’s Restaurant in 2004. Most recently in 2005, Malik performed at the world famous “Apollo Theatre” Amateur Night. He held all three places in a 3 week run. He slated to return for the “Super Top Dawg” Show in December of 2005. Malik also performed at Apollo Summer Fest 2005 and McDonald’s Gospel Fest. Malik lives in Mount Vernon, NY and attends Bronx High School for Performance & Stagecraft
