One summer afternoon, I walked into a recording studio and played these standards. It was a present for my father on his 80th birthday. He was a consummate musician with great ears and an expressive technique. His inspired music uplifted many lives. He loved these songs and taught them to me. A lifetime later, I played them beautifully for him because he was sick.
