简介
Alchemia is a heavy metal band, consisting of four friends from Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. The band has been widely praised in Iceland for their excellent live shows and playmanship. The band was formed in the fall of 2007 by Birgir Þór Halldórsson (guitar & vocals), Gabríel Örn Erlingsson (guitar) and Egill Fabien Posocco (bass) and was originally called Shotgun. In december 2007 Anton Freyr Andreassen Röver (drums) joined the band. Shotgun did not play any concerts but was known for rapidly changing rehearsal spaces. The name Shotgun was replaced in favor of the name Albula and the band played it's first concert in march 2008 at the Icelandic Battle of the Bands. In 2008 the band came to a crossroad with drummer Anton, when he was replaced with Örn Ingólfsson. With Örn behind the kit the band expanded their gig roster and the Alchemia sound began to develop. The name Albula was replaced by the name Alchemia after an eventful trip guitarist Gabríel took to Poland, where the name appeared before him as a thunder out of a clear blue sky while partying in downtown Kraków. At the start of 2010 Örn parted ways with the band who now had to find a new drummer, again. Sölvi Guttormsson took up the sticks, and around mid 2010 recording on Alchemia's first album began at M studios with Þröstur Jóhannsson taking the helm. Sölvi recorded only 3 songs with the band over the course of one weekend, but was fired shortly thereafter because of his drug use. Recording resumed in January 2011 with a new drummer, Gottskálk Daði Reynisson, and were finished in the same month. Alchemia's first album, simply titled "Alchemia", was released in May 2011. After the release show the band underwent a mini tour around the country, with most concerts being held in the capital region of Iceland. The band played concerts around Iceland, including Paddy's in Keflavík, as well as competing in the Global Battle of the Bands where Alchemia was chosen "The band of the people". That led to Alchemia performing at the Jack live festival at the Gaukurinn in Reykjavík. Alchemia has also played off-venue concerts at Iceland Airwaves 4 years in a row and played at various festivals around the country, most notably Akureyri Rocks, Gæran at Sauðárkrókur and Þorskurinn at Bolungarvík, plus an off-venue show at Eistnaflug, Iceland's largest rock festival in 2013. Alchemia are also scheduled to play on-venue at Eistnaflug 2015. The band has also performed at the Reykjavík Culture night and loads and loads of other concerts in Reykjavík and it's neighbouring towns. In 2013 Alchemia and the Icelandic Rockbar threw a Nirvana tribute concert that exceeded every expectation. Recording of Alchemia's second album "Insanity" took place at Hljóðverk studios in the first week of January 2014. Einar and Stefán Vilberg oversaw the recording process as well as mixing and mastering the album.
