简介
CWS, formerly known as Siege, makes his way to Singularity to deal out his brand of industrial techno for the 22nd Sin release. As Siege, and now CWS, Calvin has been a steady and reliable force in uk industrial styled techno for a number of years. His punishing and sophisticated DJ work is well known from his regular performances in the North and Midlands of the UK, as a regular of the infamous ex-techno mecha Detached of Leeds, and current techno centre Future Past as well as a host of other parties around the UK, and with releases on labels such as Spain's Subsist, Serbia's Teskoba and Armatura Records. The sound of CWS has very strong roots in Industrial music and the more Gnarly end of EBM, combining inventive, punishing, and energetic beats with filmic, cyberpunk landscapes. We've been waiting for CWS to provide us with what we consider to be the essence of his sound, and here it is for you. From the heads down, pounding, hypnotic drone of Pain in the Drone, through the dark, heavy atmospherics and lurching beats of Project Quatermass to the IDM melodies and crisp broken beats of Somewhere else, we hope you come to appreciate the individual nature of this artist, and are driven to investigate his work further. We are also very pleased to welcome again the man who we can best describe as a true techno maverick. Makaton, the uncompromising artist responsible for the legendary experimental industrial techno label Rodz Konez, never an artist to underestimate nor attempt to predict. We need gush no more, suffice it to say, without Makaton there might not have ever been a Singularity Recordings, and we are delighted at the remix he provided us with. Twisted and angry, his remix staggers drunkenly into a bar full of hells angels, smashes a bottle of beer over its own head, and then goes to work on the clientele. Dangerous music, right on the Zeitgeist. The Voidloss remix is an all out beating in the dark. Pitch black, bloody and frightening. Singularity starts 2013 with fire in its belly!
