简介
Small Girl is the first release from The 5 o'clocks since reforming in 2014 and adding legendary guitar player Charlie Karp. The lyrics by vocalist Paula Gallo were inspired by her 4-year battle with Morgellon's disease. The single is also being released as part of an upcoming book on the disease entitled How to Get your Life Back from Morgellons and Other Skin Parasites by Richard Kuhns. The song features Karp's burning guitar solo. It also has John Lamb on Moog synthesizer and Fender Rhodes, Jon Saxon on tenor saxophone, Fred Clark on guitar, while Jim Syarto raps and plays drums. Lamb produced the recording. Charlie Karp became an instant living legend in Westport in 1971 when he dropped out of Staples High School in Westport at age 16 to take the lead guitar gig with the Buddy Miles Express, which was touring the world with Jimi Hendrix at the time. Charlie performed on four records with Miles including his biggest hit, Them Changes, featuring Karp’s blazing guitar solo. Charlie went on to have his own bands including the Dirty Angels, Charlie Karp & The Namedroppers, and SloLeak with Danny Korchmar. In addition, he’s been a songwriter and producer for bands including Joan Jett, Ram Jam (of Black Betty fame) and the Joe Perry Project. Charlie has also performed with other stars including Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, David Johannson, and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.
