Karl Richter's role in researching the music of Johann Sebastian Bach after the Second World War is enormous. As a soloist on the harpsichord, Karl Richter set standards, and he can also be heard as such on this new album. In Bach's four concerts for harpsichord and string orchestra, he also acts as a soloist on the harpsichord, in addition to his role as conductor of the renowned Ansbach Bachwoche Festival Orchestra. Initially Richter can be heard alone and at the end together with three other soloists in the Concert for 4 Harpsichords BWV 1065. A fulminate culmination that can hardly be surpassed in virtuosity!
