My violin is an extension of my voice. Throughout my life of playing from Sydney Conservatorium to nightclubs in different cities- from Istanbul to Los Angeles, Paris to Casablanca, this record conveys a part of that journey. Sounds from around the globe that have inspired me and feelings that I have struggled to describe with words from the deep sadness of Last to Know, to the confident yet coy discovery of the title track The Journey. This record describes a part of my journey, and I’m excited to take you with me… I hope you enjoy some of my favourite classics and my own compositions co-written with one of Canada’s greatest talents- Pavlo, who I have been honoured to work with on this record. -Sophie Serafino
