简介
It all began in Greentown, Indiana, a small farming community where Josephine first learned hard-work and follow-through. Where she sang to trees and listened for their melodies. Walking in the woods, farm fields and listening, wrestling with how to sing stories of her mind and observations. In the solitude of rural Indiana, Josephine Johnson fell in love with story and songwriting. Travel, adventure, education informed her music and story telling: Two years in Americorps. A season working a ski resort learning to snowboard. Two summers Student Conservation Association. Savannah College of Art and Design. Humboldt State University, MA English. Josephine taught English in China, performed in China. Taught in Thailand, performed there, too. And through it all, she kept writing and singing. Open-mics, coffee shops, bars and venues like the Arcata Playhouse in far-northern California, the Plough and Stars in San Francisco, and Pig 'n Whistle in Hollywood. Humboldt Folklife Summer Festival and Benbow Summer Arts and Music Festival have also invited Josephine to share her music on their stages. Josephine released her first album, Elemental, in 2010 while living in Eureka, California. Let It All Out, was released January 2014. Josephine Johnson now lives in Los Angeles California, where everyday offers a new opportunity for adventure and learning new things.
