简介

Are you struggling in life? Sometimes situations have been lingering a long time, and other times a nuclear life event hits you. This can leave you feeling lost, hopeless, doubting your faith, and wondering how to get back to the fruits of the Spirit. The Talitha Cumi Project spurred from Dana Lamb's nuclear bomb of a divorce and recovery through faith. Though she was a 26-year music minister in the church, she found that her own faith life was lacking what she needed in order to feel God's presence through the aftermath. One day, while worshipping in church 30 miles from her home, she was led to Mark 5:35-43 when Jesus went to Jairus' daughter. The community was weeping and mourning because they thought she was dead. Jesus banished from the home and told them that she was simply asleep. He took her hand and said, "Talitha Cumi" which is translated to "Rise up, little maiden." When you deal with life's blows, sometimes it's hard to get out of bed, both literally and figuratively. This album is meant to encourage and soothe the wounded woman into taking meaningful steps toward recovery and renewing her faith walk. Dana Lamb is an award-winning songwriter, most noted for writing "You Should Dream" which was the title track and PBS al that came from America's Got Talent's The Texas Tenors. Now, she turns her attention and her pen toward writing inspirational music to inspire and encourage women who have been victimized, suffered loss, or who simply cannot find a way back to the happiness and peace that they once knew. Typically, songwriters do not record albums, and this album is just as unusual as the fact that it is being released by a songwriter. Instead of choosing one female vocalist, she chose five from all different ages and walks of life. On a summer day, they walked into the studio as strangers, but two days and ten songs later, they walked out as sisters all saying that it was the most impactful music that they had ever recorded. Artists on the project include Mandy Thomas Sumerall (You Are Love/Waiting For My Good), D'Angela Oliver (Joy To This Girl/When I Fall Down), Emily Kimbell (Sing For The Woman/Slam The Door), Erica Calderon (Be A Little Kind/Holier Than Thou) and Christie Lamb (I Am My Now). All of the vocalists sang back up on numerous songs, but their finale "Rise Up" is a celebration of each of their identities and tremendous vocal talent.
