Bengal has a rich cultural heritage that has been passed on from earlier generations to the present generation. This culture encompasses a large body of poetry, drama and music, sometimes left alone to portray the ideals of one and sometimes one kind blended into another to give birth to a richer and more beautiful outcome of the same idea. We at Ripples Music, a newly formed musical troop blessed by the eminent painter Mr. Jogen Chowdhury, vovalist Mrs. Urmimala Basu, singer Mrs. Usha Utthup and others, have started working on a new concept of integrating poetry, song and drama to produce a new kind of musical drama which perhaps Kolkata has not seen yet. We have taken utmost care to use songs and poetries in a composed manner within the scope of a drama to give people a different level of musical experience. “Khuje Firi Tabuo Tomay” is the debut production that has handpicked jewels of poetris from both parts of Bengal and mixed well with the original songs and Rabindra Sangeet. An Excerpt of the drama – Sabuj and Shirin - can be two names in any parts of Bengal. A boy and a girl. Destiny makes them closer. Their hearts beat in rhythm. Their feelings spread their wings in songs and poems. Will the society and people around welcome them? Or the usual conflicts of dream and reality forces love to sustain in sorrow. In the backdrop of the partition of Bengal and troubled time around us, we are producing an eternal love story, “Khuje Firi Tabuo Tomay”.
