This album represents my personal journey through 2016, a year marked with personal losses that affected my choice of songs to record on the album. On the other hand, 2016 was also a positive turning point for me and my band with many successful shows and inspired collaborative rehearsal and studio sessions. In general, it started with a heavy heart and ended featherlight and happy, just like the album progression, which was recorded at different stages of this emotional journey. "This album takes the listener on an emotional journey that starts with loss and ends on a thankful note, each song depicting a different stage in love through the expressive instrumentation of the band: the lilting piano melodies, the urgent accordion sounds and the driving and sometimes dark bass melodies, supported by a subtle beat that moves the songs forward, with the silky and sensual vocals breathing each chapter of this well-known story of love lost then found again." I would like to thank my band members and friends, Shawn Ellison, Shirley Johnson, Joe McCreary, Phil Spencer and James Anderson, whose friendship is cherished. You all gave me laughter when I had tears; you turned on the lightbulb in my brain when I thought it was dead; you lifted me up and supported me, allowing me to express myself freely; you always had my back, and I've got yours, always. The front cover of the album is a gift of art from a dear friend and artist, Neda Doany. Her sensitive and thought provoking art is exemplified in the cover, a mixed media piece entitled, "Seduction", mysterious, melancholic and sensual, matching the mood of the album perfectly.
