Cuenta Nueva collects five love songs covering a range of stages or experiences in relationships: the intricacies in play when rudeness or blunders coexist with underlying devotion and passion (Dame Amor); the hope that wise love ultimately fades intense disagreements away to start anew (Cuenta Nueva); the pondering of a second chance after an initial relationship was thought over (Una Vuelta Mas); the spark that eventually leads to something unexpectedly much deeper (Embeleco); and the sensual attraction in which yet a calming, meaningful quality is almost immediately identified (Terreno Fertil).

Cuenta Nueva is Ignacio Vidal’s first solo EP, in which he plays guitars and bass and also sings, focusing on the lyrical and guitar tone aspects. Ignacio Vidal holds a Master Certificate in Songwriting and Guitar from Berklee College of Music’s online program and was the songwriter of the band Jamba, based in Puerto Rico. He has played guitar most of his life and has delved into many different genres such as metal, jazz, blues, rock, and Latin folk. He is also an aficionado flamenco guitarist, having played regularly for several years in groups in Puerto Rico.
