Bassist Eldee Young and drummer Isaac 'Red' Holt spent the 1960s as Ramsey Lewis' rhythm section. By the time they recorded this soul jazz/instrumental groove classic in 1972 (produced by Michael Cuscuna, also known for his work on the Art Ensemble's Baptizum LP), Young & Holt were stone solid groove monsters - similar to Curtis Mayfield's early 70s material. Plenty of samples have been lifted from this LP featuring percussionist Ralph McDonald and keyboardists Richard Tee and Bobby Lyle. Its a 'rare groove' classic!
