简介
As trends in popular music come and go, there are some things that never go out of style. Great melodies, meaningful lyrics, and real human interaction in performance come to mind. These elements are all present and accounted for on Ross Rice recent offering, DWIGHT, on Memphis Records. As a respected 20 year veteran of the Memphis/ Nashville music axis, Ross has tread a singular path through the many byways of Rock, Pop, R&B, and Soul......in the land where these genres were pretty much invented. After several years cutting his teeth in the Mid South circuit, working with the likes of Duck Dunn, Charlie Rich, Luther Ingram, and Ron Wood, he formed (with several close friends) the quintessential late 80's group Human Radio, whos 1990 eponymous debut was critically acclaimed, and whos first single, Me And Elvis, reached #28 on the Billboard Album Rock chart. After extensive touring, the group parted ways in 1992, and Ross continued writing, performing, and producing, with such notables as Adrian Belew, Rob Wasserman, Stephen Perkins, Todd Snider, Steve Forbert, Garrison Starr, and numerous others. A solo release on Steve Earle's E Squared label, titled Umpteen, was released internationally in 1997, to more critical praise. Most recently, Ross has relocated to the Hudson Valley of New York, and is currently involved with numerous projects in the area. Ross new CE, Dwight, is the result of this wealth of experience. From the in-your-face rock anthem Hard Times For The Revolution, to the sweet sexiness of the R&B tinged (Just Wanna) Hang With My Baby, Ross runs the full emotional gambit, leaving no stone unturned.
