简介
Johnny Cruz is a guitarist, composer and songwriter. He has retired from the world of county fairs, car shows, clubs and dives to stay home and record his original compositions. He toured the midwest for twenty years playing oldies rock 'n roll cover tunes. Many of the songs on this CD were written out on the road. He wrote, arranged, performed and produced the entire thing. On the CD tray card he writes, “This will be my first solo release ever. The only thing I ever wanted to do was write my own songs and record them. I truly hope others can enjoy listening to these unusual little songs. I try to make them interesting.” Below is a brief description of each song on the CD. Cosmic Cowboy A cowboy, who is a spaceship pilot, searches the heavens for heavy metals How Can I Say Goodbye Another song on the classic theme of lost love. Island Of Monkeys A song about being 'primitive' It Was Only Love A song on the classic theme, "girl meets boy, girl has fun with boy, girl dumps boy". Cannibals Another very silly song about 'big game' hunters! Grapes and Bananas A very silly song with no meaning at all! Don't Tell My Mom I'm From Mars When I was a kid I used to walk home from school with this guy who swore he was really from Mars. One day when we got close to his house he leaned in and whispered, "Don't tell my mom I'm from Mars!" I had to write this song. The Way The Spider Moves This song was inspired by the spider in "James and the Giant Peach". She was very interesting. The Space Police A meaningless story about intergalactic police chasing someone suspected of causing "Entropy" Song of the Ancients This was originally a solo guitar piece that really needed something more.
