简介
Todd Adelman’s “Highways and Lowways”, the Colorado recording artist’s fifth album, is a raw and rollicking journey through the heart of roots-rock, folk, blues and country that sings with guts and glory telling tales of Americana in heartfelt and stunning fashion. “As a songwriter first and foremost, when I hear a song I am usually drawn to the narrator’s voice,” says Adelman “The records that I have always gravitated towards take the listener to a certain time and place. I have always tried to convey this feeling in my songs.” A songwriter in the truest sense, Adelman co-founded the Boulder Area Songwriter’s Exchange in 2000 after spending time with Jack Hardy. His compositions and performances draw influence from the great troubadours such as Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons and Robert Earl Keen. Adelman recalls, “I was about ten years old and growing up in New York. I was driving over the George Washington Bridge in the back of my mom’s car and listening to WNEW spin classic album sides. Dennis Elsas dropped the needle down on The Band’s “Music from Big Pink” and from the first note I was gone. From that point on, I knew my life revolved around music.” Todd’s love of music and commitment to analog sound and old school recording techniques eventually led him to establish The Mountain House, a world-class recording studio nestled in the woods outside of Nederland, Colorado, where he has engineered and produced numerous recordings. His previous release, 2009’s “Todd Adelman & The Love Handles” would skyrocket to # 4 on the National Roots Charts, #1 on the Colorado Roots charts and broke into the Americana Music Charts top 100. Set to be released in January 2015, “Highways and Lowways” features a great cast of players: Andy Hess (Black Crowes), Diego Voglino (Marshall Crenshaw), Doug Pettibone (Lucinda Williams), Kelvin Holly (Little Richard) and Pete Rubens (The Old Nationals). The record was engineered and mixed to tape at The Mountain House by Chad Hailey (JJ Cale, Neil Young) and Brandon Bell (Alison Krauss, Darrell Scott). Adelman is set to promote and tour with his current band Todd Adelman & The Country Mile in support of Highways and Lowways in Spring of 2015.
